Adventure Report: Hiking the Ridge at New Paltz, NY

On Saturday, November 15th, a couple friends and I decided to do some hiking at the West Trapps area in New Paltz. This area is part of the Mohonk Preserve, and offers many cool areas to hike and explore.

Our hike for this day was across the top of a famous area, called The Ridge. This area is a gorgeous cliff-like area that is both challenging and gorgeous to explore. We were hiking along the top of this:

Hiking this area was gorgeous, but I’ll let the pictures do the talking:

We decided to head from the West Trapps Parking Lot and hike roughly 10 miles. I’ve never been┬áhiking in weather this cold, and the layers of clothing definitely added a level of difficulty to the hike. I think I’ll be doing more of this, even as it gets colder.
