Adventure Report: Solo Hike to the Powerplant at Peterskill in New Paltz, NY

With the warmer weather approaching, I decided to check out a familiar area to me. I went to Peterskill in New Paltz, NY. I knew of a place with a power plant from over 50 years ago, and wanted to check it out. I also knew of some amazing waterfall scenery that would still have snow and ice from the winter.

I’ll let the pictures do the talking:

The drive is always beautiful at any time of the year

Arriving, I found some of the path still covered in snow and ice

As I started moving back towards the power plant, something caught my eye.

The powerplant had a waterline pipe feeding into it, and the structure made a cool pattern

After, something even more interesting caught my eye.

A waterfall seems to have frozen over. And it's blue!
